MINISTRIES

There is a ministry for everyone

Weekly Bible Study

Bible Study is held every Monday at 3pm.  Come as you are!  There's no preparation or homework required.  We read scripture together and discuss it as it relates to history, spirituality, and the way we live today.

Monthly free supper

On the third Friday of each month (except for August) we host a free supper for anyone and everyone in the community to enjoy.  We feed hundreds of healthy meals to neighbors of all ages, and there's always desert!

Music Ministry

Our Music Director, Shirli Allen Heald leads our choir in singing every week in worship September through June, and our organist Elaine Emery and accompanist Ed Baldridge provide us with beautiful music year-round.  We have a bell choir, directed by Elaine, and host a wonderful Christmastide concert every December.  Come sing with us!

Sunday School

In Sunday School, kids of all ages come together to learn about God's love in a caring, supportive environment.  You may find them doing crafts, learning songs, or building with Legos while learning about our faith.  Our Youth Group also meets regularly for fun, fellowship, and service.  In the fall, you might find them picking apples and making pies for the free supper one week, and creating a haunted house the next.  In the winter we celebrate a mini church camp weekend, complete with a lock-in, crafts, games, and singing around a fake campfire in the basement!  Our Sunday school and Youth Group are as Open and Affirming as the rest of the church, and we welcome all kinds of children to join us!

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we distribute baskets to at least ten families in need stocked full of everything they will need to cook a Thanksgiving dinner.  Our Youth Group and Mission Committee make sure the baskets Include enough food for the whole family, and even take allergies into account.  This is just one of the many ways we help to feed those in our community who find it difficult to afford food.  We also support the local food pantry on a regular basis, as well as the food pantries at the High School and Middle School.

Annual Yard Sale

Each year in August, we host an incredible yard sale that brings people from near and far together to recycle and reuse everything from furniture to books to Christmas decorations!  We see our yard sale as a chance to keep useful things in circulation, provide inexpensive items for our community, and a way to raise money for the missions of our church.
